I particularly like the Liz Taylor-like glow around him, like he's bathed in beautiful violet light. Just like Liz herself.
But then again, I've had a LOT of Halloween candy today... :)
But seriously, I like how you've deepened the shadowy dino color inside the shell without losing the saturation. Did you use red tones to counterbalance the green, or how did you do that?
Wait a sec, you sound familiar. Do I know you...? ;)
For color, I was mostly trying to make the lit areas warmer, and the shadow areas cooler. That, and use a very small number of colors for a more unified color scheme. I could easily have spent a couple more hours fiddling with this. (Maybe I will!)
Oh my gosh, I LOVE this guy! I agree with The Wife (ha!)...I love the lavender coming in around the edges. And that EYE! You're just drawn right in. PUN INTENDED.
Love it, love it. Wish my baby looked that happy right now. :D
