Ooh! I think the subtle blue shading on the iris helps for sure. Great idea, making the character look completely human except for one obvious detail that you somehow almost miss.

Vote three for shading! I also love the strands of hair bisecting the eyes...gives another layer of mystery to an already intriguing figure, you know?

But I also think the shading here adds some depth. Lines are there at the edge of the eyes that I'd rather leave out, though...
