Peter Hong - Star Wars Extravaganza

Here's an old sketch of Darth Maul I did. I found it among some scans from my old sketchbook.

A new one with a new Jedi surrounded by spiritual guides/instructors. He looks similar to the last Jedi I posted. I thought the shadows might work if there was a small round light on top, but maybe not.

Okay, you've got to post a lightsaber tutorial! Is that done in pre-scan pencil or post-scan digitally? I can't tell.

And your shadows and draping are, as always, stunning. Pardon my ignorance, though...who is the Jedi in the middle?

thanks, marie! i'm thinkin' he can be the same as this guy, even though it was unintentional. i guess both times i was just thinkin' star wars is often multi-cultural, and the next trilogy needs new characters.

the light sabers were done in photoshop post-scan! i don't have shades of blue pencil that are cool enough. ;)

oh, and i had photo reference for luke and obi, so i can't take credit for the drapery.

I would totally watch this movie. Nice work on Luke and Obi-Wan's faces. Reference or no, you condensed them to this style really well :-)
