Adam Heine - Happy New Year

My hope for the new year is pretty simple. Some context for this picture is appropriate.

In 2006, we got 3 kids.
In 2007: +3 more kids
2008: -1 kid
2009: +1 kid and -2 others (net: -1 kid)
2010: +5 kids
2011: +1 kid

TOTAL KIDS: 10
INSANITY LEVEL: High
WATERCOLOR SKILL LEVEL: Low

I admit it. The kid math problem
introduced more questions than it has answered for me without further context. :)

I like your color choices. The red and orange adds to the intensity.

Oops, sorry, Jaqai! My wife and I foster kids in Thailand. So taking in kids is what we do, but at the moment...not so much.

haha, nice job on the watercolors, adam! your first new year's wish is noted. :)

I second Jaqai, I LOVE the colors on this! And your watercolors are looking awesome. Here's to hoping your wish comes true (although any kid that gets to hang with the Heines would be pretty dang lucky in my book. :D)

(And yeah, I'd imagine that without context, 2009 looked a little frightening.)

I can't even fathom what ten kids would be like. My two run circles around me!

Awesome job on this drawing! Especially the proportions and facial expression.

Marie: I actually thought 2010 looked the most frightening, but I see what you're saying.

So more context: the first kid left (2008) for discipline reasons. He wouldn't take any and he decided to leave. The 2 kids in 2009 were much less frightening, in that they went back to live with their mom (a good thing).

Charles: Thank you. I think it looked a lot better when it was just pencil, but that's okay. The point of junk like this is me experimenting :-)
