Adam Heine - Year in Review

I don't know enough about art to evaluate who I am artistically, but I looked through everything I've drawn this year and found a piece that (a) I haven't put up here before* and (b) more or less represents "what I do." I think.

This sketch was actually commissioned by our own K. Marie Criddle, being a character from one of her works in progress.

* That was hard. The whole reason I joined Anthdrawlogy was because I almost never draw outside of it.

nice pencil work, adam! i especially like the articulation in the folds of clothing, and the drapery work, the boots, and, of course, the grappling hook. am i gonna come by this character in "air pirates"?

Miss Bartleby is in one of Marie's works in progress (that I hope to read some day, HINT HINT). Apparently the grappling hook is for dueling.

Although Air Pirates has more than its fair share of hooks :-)

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this picture. This is my Hannah and I adore her so. You've done her GREAT justice!

As far as WIPs go, maybe a Christmas swap? Hint-hint-I-want-to-read-Air-Pirates-so-much-hint-hint?? :D

I cannot swap in time for Christmas, but I can tell you that -- after I finish these revisions for my agent -- I want someone who's never read Air Pirates before to read it (and see if it's totally obvious that I just pulled two characters out of nowhere and stuck them in wherever). Hint hint :-)

These hints are pleasing to me. :D

Love the facial expression. Feels like it captures a moment in time and isn't a "pose."

This drawing is great, and it really makes me want to read Marie's book! And yours too, Adam!
