Adam Heine - Izanami's Choice

This is not technically accurate, because the main character of Izanami's Choice carries a folding sword, not a regular sword. But you know, whatever.

Oh, and if you want to buy the book (and have not done so already), there are links to pre-order it here!

Hey, who has next topic? Is it me or Charles?

Adam Heine - Tattoos

Tattoos are fairly central to the game I'm working on. Among other things (including peel-off tattoos, Marie), the story's central character jumps from body to body to live forever. The bodies he uses all all have a special tattoo that he uses as a kind of psychic gate. It looks something like this.

Does it count as fan art if I'm a lead for the game? That's a thing, right?

Adam Heine - Pixar

I realized too late that Baymax is not actually Pixar. Oh well. I still like it.

Adam Heine - Back Burner

It was apparently a year ago that I said I would color and ink this sketch. Thanks to Charles's topic, I finally did!

Adam Heine - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Tiny-headed Rey.

I actually drew this before the new topic went up, but I never had a chance to scan it until now.

Adam Heine - Star Wars Extravaganza

Trying stuff. Learning things about light. Also learning that we have no good sharpies in the house.

Adam Heine - Five Minute Drawings

I did two of them. I cheated a little on the first one, but not much -- just some darkening and the lettering.

Okay, fine, I added Elsa's hairpin after five minutes too. But come on! The braid alone took like three and a half!

Adam Heine - Nintendo

This was such a big topic for me. I kinda wanna split it into subtopics like we did for Star Wars, but I don't know if that would be inflicting my childhood on you all :-)

Adam Heine - Sidekicks

One of my favorite sidekicks from one of my favorite shows, along with his personal battle cry. Clap your hands if you know him.

Adam Heine - Opposite Hand

This was fascinating. It was interesting to see how much of my drawing skills come from my brain and how much from my body.

I copied a reference to make it easy on myself. I made myself erase with my left hand too (which made me somewhat reluctant to erase, it turns out). My left hand had no idea how to draw a straight line or even shade the simplest thing. I felt like a 3-year-old, but it was fun.

Adam, Joel, and Nathan Heine - Team Drawing

I had to do two because the boys are incapable of allowing one person to do something that they themselves don't do (honestly, I was lucky to get away with less than five).

This topic was much harder than I thought it would be. I think, perhaps, because coloring and shading are not my strengths (in as much as I have "strengths"). Most of the time, I had no idea what I was doing. I mean more so than normal.

So this first one was drawn by Joel. Unfortunately he gave me a whole page and I got tired of coloring before I got to the pirates or the sky.

This one was drawn by Nathan (who has posted here before). Halfway through coloring it, he told me it was a vampire [something] that was making the "bone guys," so I added an appropriate scene.

Now, of course, the boys are all drawing skeletons and tombstones. Ah, well.

Adam Heine - Spies

There are definitely parts of this I'm happier about than others, but here you go.

Adam Heine - Teeth

I had no ideas, so I just drew from reference this round. Bonus points if you know what it is.

Adam Heine - Kaiju

Sometimes these two forget they're supposed to be fighting and they dance instead. It's . . . awkward for everyone.

If you would like to vote for Godzilla and Ghidorah, you can dial 1-888-TEMPO-06. That's 1-888-TEMPO-06. Voting will be open for two hours after the show.

Adam Heine - New Year's Resolutions

So this one requires some explanation.

First, what it is: a silhouette version of this picture, which is me and our now-teenage daughter back when she still liked me (or at least tolerated me enough to sit for a picture together).

Our relationship has been hard for the last couple of years, and I've been learning more than anything how to give her space and forgive her crap. These are both mostly for my sake, because I've also learned that basically nothing I do will change her heart. Nothing will change her heart at all unless and until she decides she wants to change.

So today is her birthday, a day she loathes because she is forced to endure the attentions of the family she doesn't always want to be a part of. This is a part of my present to her. It says: "No matter what happens, you'll always have Dad's love."

She won't like it -- she hates being reminded that I love her -- but her liking it is not the point. My resolution (which is not so much a new resolution as an ongoing one) is to keep loving her and forgiving her no matter what she does.

Adam Heine - Droids, Tentacles, Snacks

Since this is my first Anthdrawlogy post in 4 months, I figured I'd tackle a few topics at once.

Inspired by the world of the game I'm working on that's been taking up all my time. Actually, when I put it like that, I suppose it would be, wouldn't it.
