So hopefully we're all ready and hyped up for this month's topic and I probably should have cleared it with the relevant parties but...here we go anyways! As some of you may know (and I just learned this because what is facebook) Adam Heine is the author of a now published and honest-to-goodness out in the world BOOK! Cue muppet flailing: YAAAAYYY! To celebrate this, I've chosen as this month's topic...and I hope this is okay, Adam...
IZANAMI'S CHOICE!
That's right, we're going for full on fanart up in this here house. Here's the summary via amazon:
Samurai Vs. Robots. Progress. Murder. Choice. In 1901, the Meiji Restoration has abolished the old ways and ushered in a cybernetic revolution. Androids integrate into society at all levels, following their programming for the betterment of every citizen, as servants, bodyguards, and bureaucrats. Jinzou are the future. Japan is at the threshold of a new tomorrow! As a ronin steeped in the old ways, Itaru wants nothing more to do with the artificial creations posing as human. But when a jinzou is suspected of murder, he's pulled into a mystery that could tear the nation apart. Malfunction or free will? When is a machine more than just a machine?
Also, other excerpts and Izanami thoughts can be found at Adam's website...AI! Samurai! Japan! Turn of the century aesthetics! What is not to love, SERIOUSLY? I'm so excited to get my hands on a copy. In the meantime, Adam, you don't HAVE to post anything because you wrote the thing, but I personally would love to see any sketches that went into the world.
Congratulations, Adam!!

Topic for March 2016
I was all proud of myself for posting two topics at once that I forgot it was my turn to post the next topic! So here it is!
PIXAR!
They've been making movies and short features since 1986, many of them classics, many of them your favorites (probably). There's a lot here to choose from, so I'm sure we can all find something to love!
(P.S. Peter, you're up for posting April's topic!)

Topic for February 2016
Do you have a project that you've temporarily set aside? Yeah, you do. Well, get ready to dust it off, because this month's topic is...
BACK BURNER!!!
That's right, it's time to breathe new life into that idea! Maybe you got stuck, or maybe something new came up. (It's okay, it happens to all of us!) At any rate, try looking at it from a new angle, and hopefully you'll surprise yourself. In a good way. And if you don't have a back burner project, lucky you! Come up with something new!
As always, works-in-progress are totally fine. And have FUN!
p.s. Adam, you get to post the march topic!

Topic for January 2016!
Aaaaaaaaaaaand........WE'RE BACK! I'm so happy to get this up and rolling again, guys! For now, we can do a topic per month just to give us time to get at least one (or as many as we'd like) posted. Kids are totally welcome to post too! And if you have any friends that would like to join in, I'm sure I speak for us all when I say the more the merrier! And now, for the grand opening topic for Anthdrawlogy 2.0....
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS!
Let's be honest, we allllllll knew this was coming.
Happy drawing, Anthdrawologians! In the words of old Han: "Chewie...we're home."
(P.S. Charles! You're in charge of February's topic. :D)

Topic for 2/2 until the next time someone posts a topic (2/16?)
While I'm on here, and since the meta-topic topic post was nearly a month ago, I'm just claiming a topic.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
I won't lie. I'm pretty in love with this movie. If you haven't seen the movie, I'm sorry, and also go see it immediately, and if you can't see it then maybe just draw a raccoon holding a gun.

Topic for 11/13 to 11/30
Great Star Wars drawings! It was a month of the Force being with us! The monthly theme also brought the next topic to mind.
Ok, here we go! And here's something I found on the internet to make the transition smoother:
Also known as Mustache November... Or Mustache 101, or even Drawing 101 (Anthdrawlogy 101?), since it's our 101st topic!

Topic for 9/17 to 9/30ish
Hey guys! So I know things are getting/have been busy for a lot of us, so I was thinking of doing a challenge rather than a theme this time around...better or worse, who knows. Ready?
FIVE MINUTE DRAWINGS!
So however long you have to draw, give yourself five minutes for one subject; if you have fifteen minutes, post three drawings. Five minutes, post one! Twenty three and a half...okay, you get it. Hopefully we can all grab a little bit of time, but if not, no worries! We'll see you on the next topic! (Who's ready for another Star Wars month, anyone?)

Topic for 8/1 to 8/14
The imagination is amazing! Just look at all the architecture that characterizes our cities. I'm originally from the Chicagoland area, which is pretty impressive for a place that was named (by Native Americans) after stinky onions. What about all the great books we read? The classics, the bestselling novels, the philosophical, fantastic, romantic, scientifically fabricated (sorry, couldn’t think of an adjective for sci fi). Endless galleries of artwork in endless mediums: pencil, ink, paint and brush, clay, glass, plastic, wood, and metal, just to name a few. How about movies? You name it…action, drama, comedy. How many mindblowing stunts or effects have we seen in the last decade alone? Even the invention of movie-making itself was the fruit of someone’s imagination. Let’s not forget animation, where the limits and boundaries of live action can be broken. The imagination can really let loose
here. The only limit here is that someone must be able to draw it.
here. The only limit here is that someone must be able to draw it.
Which brings us to the next topic:
IMAGINATION!
The imagination is limitless, and, if we allow it, can even transcend space, time, and all that we know! The object is to draw something that stretches the imagination, whatever your interpretation of that may be. Hopefully, this won't be a stressful topic, but we'll have lots of fun!

That topic brought back all sorts of memories, digital and otherwise! And it's great to have you back, Marie! So, shall we...
Adam, did you want to take the helm? If not, I can post.

Topic for 7/11 to 7/25
I think it's time to call it, and I know it's my turn for a topic. To that end, I choose...
NINTENDO
Mario, Link, Mega Man, Pikachu, Samus Aran, Starfox, Donkey Kong... I couldn't tell you how many hours I've spent with these iconic characters (I really don't think I want to tell you).
Even if you didn't spend your entire childhood educated with an NES controller in your hand, I'm sure you recognize at least one of these guys, right?
Right?

Topic for 5/30 - 6/14ish?
Oh gosh, sorry about the delay, guys! I'm in a hotel for the next few days as we move outta Japan and my brain's all sorts of mushy. But! I just watched "Sky High" for the first time (delightful...thank you hotel room Disney channel) and I got to thinking how fun it would be to do...
SIDEKICKS!
Yes, I know a most of my topics are inspired by what I've been watching lately, but I just like mixing my mediums, yo.
Who's next on topic? Jaqai or Peter?

Topic for 4/17 - 5/1
Great team drawing, everyone! Isn't it wonderful to share your artistic process with someone else? I sure had a blast. Thanks for the awesome topic, Peter!
My right shoulder has been a bit sore lately, which gave me the idea for our next topic:
OPPOSITE HAND!!!
If you're a lefty, draw with your right, and vice-versa. If you're ambidextrous... I dunno, draw with your feet? Or just improvise!
For this topic, I was inspired by Lois van Baarle, one of my favorite artists. She has been struggling with tennis elbow, and decided to try drawing left handed. After really setting her mind to it for a while, she's achieved some very impressive results. So give it a try! You might just surprise yourself!

Topic for 3/27 to 4/10
Sorry for the delay, folks! I've been out of country for the last week.
Great Jedi drawings! I think it's safe to say the Force was with us in crafting these formidable butt-kickers!
For the next topic, I thought we'd try this idea I saw on Facebook. The idea is to either finish someone else's drawing (a child, or friend/co-worker/whatever), or have them finish yours. Hmmm...what to call it? How 'bout:
TEAM DRAWING
I hope we can have some fun with this! Tag, Charles, you're it for the next topic.

Topic for 3/11 to 3/25
Can I tell you those spies made me all kinds of happy? They really did.
And to keep making me happy (and to ensure the drawings do not wane again!), this week(s) our topic is:
JEDI
I don't really need to explain this topic, do I?
Peter, you've got the next topic post, on or shortly after 3/25.

Topic for 2/14 to 2/27
I tell you, Preston the dentist was really pleased with the previous toothy topic! When I asked him for a little input on what should be our next topic, he only said "more teeth." Next time, buddy. But our recent Netflix marathon of "Chuck" has brought me to this for our next topic....
SPIES!
Pull out that night-vision pen and the two way eraser and get (code) cracking!
(The next topic will be posted by Jaqai Mickelsen on or around 2/27!)
