Marie Criddle - Reindeer

So in what little I know of Norse mythology, the Father-God Odin has this amazing eight legged steed named Sleipnir (who, in one incarnation, had four heads but, come on. That's just nutty.) I also remember reading that Odin and Sleipnir were among many of the inspirations that eventually made up the current image of Santa Claus and his reindeer (the eight legs being translated, I suppose, into eight separate reindeer?) A stretch, maybe. :)

Anyways, let's all join in singing that classic Christmas song: "Sleipnir, the eight legged reindeer (reindeer), had a very awesome name (can't pronounce it!)..."

So awesome. I like the loving pat between Sleipnir and Odin Claus.

Eew, I think I found one of those in my ceiling the other night. I caught it in a jar and let it outside.

Ooo! Interesting backstory! And I'm more than a little impressed that you figured out how to put EIGHT LEGS ON ONE BODY. Jewel-encrusted-anklet wearing legs, no less. The ornament on the antler is a nice touch. :)

Great. That song is going to be stuck in my head all day.

Thanks, guys! Charles, having invoked the wrath of Odin Claus by smooshing his steed, I'm sorry to say your Norse Christmas socks are probably going to be full of Loki-coal. Woe is you.

Peggy, you will have no Loki-coal. Singing the song appeases him. :D
